Terms of Service
The agreement between you and SheetsBoss when you install and use the SheetsBoss Contact add-on. We've kept it as short as a real agreement can be.
1. This agreement
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and SheetsBoss ("SheetsBoss", "we", "us") covering the SheetsBoss Contact Google Workspace add-on and any related support (together, the "Service"). By installing or using the add-on, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Our Privacy Policyexplains how we handle data and forms part of this agreement. If you are entering into these Terms for a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and "you" means that company.
2. What SheetsBoss Contact is
SheetsBoss Contact is an add-on that runs inside Google Sheets. It reads the row you have selected and gives you faster ways to act on it — placing a call, drafting a message, or writing a dated note back into your own notes column.
Two limits are worth stating up front, because they shape everything else: your spreadsheet remains the source of truth, and SheetsBoss Contact does not send anything itself. It hands a link or a draft to Gmail, WhatsApp, your dialler or your messaging app. The message leaves from your own account, when you press send.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use the Service. You need a Google account to install the add-on, and you are responsible for complying with Google's own terms for it.
4. Your Google account and data
You keep all rights in your spreadsheets and their contents. We claim no ownership of them, and we do not store their contents — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is and is not held.
You grant us only the permission needed to run the features you use: to read the sheet you have open while the sidebar is running, and to write back the notes and settings you ask for. You can withdraw that permission at any time by removing the add-on from Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons or from your Google account permissions page.
You are responsible for having the right to process the personal data in your spreadsheet — including the phone numbers and email addresses of the people you contact. Where data protection law applies, you are the controller of that data and we act on your instructions.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or any communication that breaks anti-spam, telemarketing or do-not-call laws (including the CAN-SPAM Act, TCPA, GDPR and PECR, as applicable to you);
- use it to harass, defraud, impersonate or threaten anyone, or to distribute malware or unlawful content;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code from the add-on;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
- circumvent usage limits, security controls or authentication, probe the Service for vulnerabilities without permission, or place unreasonable load on it;
- use the Service in breach of Google's Workspace Marketplace terms or the terms of any service the add-on hands off to.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you are doing any of the above, or if it is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
Security researchers are welcome. If you find a vulnerability, tell us at getsheetsboss@gmail.com and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it; we will not pursue good-faith research conducted that way.
6. Outreach is your responsibility
SheetsBoss Contact makes it faster to reach the person in a row. It does not decide whether you should. You are solely responsible for the content, timing, recipients and legality of every call, text, WhatsApp message and email you make or send with the help of the Service, including obtaining any consent required, honouring opt-outs, and keeping to the rules that apply to the jurisdictions you and your recipients are in.
7. Pricing
SheetsBoss Contact is currently free, with no seat count and no send limit — it never sends anything itself, so there is nothing to meter. If we ever begin charging for it, we will give at least 30 days' notice on this page and — where we have your email address — by email, and the change will never apply retroactively to a period you have already used for free.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we offer no service level agreement. The Service depends on Google Workspace; if Google changes or withdraws an API, a feature may change or stop working.
We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice where we reasonably can.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including the add-on, our design system, name, logo and documentation, belongs to SheetsBoss and is protected by intellectual property law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own internal business or personal purposes. Nothing else is granted by implication.
All other product and company names are trademarks of their respective holders. SheetsBoss is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, or by any calling, messaging or email service.
10. Feedback
We would like to hear your ideas, and we may act on them. If you send us feedback or a feature suggestion, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it without obligation or compensation to you. You are not required to send us feedback.
11. Third-party services
The Service opens Gmail, WhatsApp Web, your dialler and similar applications on your behalf. Those are independent services governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them, for their availability, or for what happens to a message once it leaves your account.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any data written to your spreadsheet will be free of error. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of your spreadsheets.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
SheetsBoss Contact is provided to you free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SheetsBoss assumes no liability whatsoever for any claim, damage or loss — direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive, including any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity or data — arising out of or relating to the Service, however caused, and even if we have been advised of the possibility.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SheetsBoss from any claim, damage, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party and arising out of your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or of applicable law — in particular claims relating to the outreach you carried out or the data you processed.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the add-on. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, or if required by law, and we will give notice where we reasonably can.
On termination, your licence to use the Service ends. Sections 6, 9, 10 and 12 to 16 survive. Your spreadsheet and your notes are unaffected — they live in your own Google account, not in ours.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction — except that, if you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
Before filing anything, please write to us at getsheetsboss@gmail.com. Most disagreements turn out to be misunderstandings that an email resolves in a day.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the product changes. We will update the "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will give notice on this page — and by email where we have your address — before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not, stop using the Service and uninstall the add-on.
18. How to reach us
Questions about these Terms go to getsheetsboss@gmail.com, or through the contact form. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the Service.
Ask us in plain words and we'll answer in plain words — and fix the page if it was us being unclear.
This page describes how SheetsBoss actually works. It is not legal advice, and it doesn't replace the rights you may have under the law where you live.
